Animambo Large Metal Tongue Drum 11 Notes - Djeco

The Animambo Large Metal Tongue Drum is a fabulous steel drum illustrated by Magali Attiogbe, featuring beautiful Native American-themed illustrations. With 11 tongues each producing its own distinct note, children simply strike them with the included drumsticks or finger picks to create gentle, relaxing and deeply satisfying sounds. Each tongue is numbered and colour-coded to match the cues on the included scores, making it easy to follow along and play musical pieces from the very first session.

Part of the Animambo collection - a colourful carnival world where animals march past with a fanfare - this wonderfully intuitive instrument encourages children to explore melody, rhythm and musical creativity from age 5. The larger 20cm diameter and 11 notes make it a step up from the 8-note drum, offering a wider musical range for growing musicians. A rubber cap over the hole on the base can be used for a quieter sound, and a QR code on the packaging lets children listen to the instrument's original sound. A thick cotton storage bag keeps everything neatly together between play sessions.
